day 6 again

so as some of you know i had a major slip and reset it till Tuesday .. well today is Monday that makes tomorrow my 1 week smoke free and I'm starting to feel it. Honesty wearing the patch drinking like 18 cups of water a day and walking at least 8 km a day and suckers and freeze-es ... I've actually lost about 10 lbs its amazing BUT not that amazing ... i have a tendency to lose weight during the summer but i wouldn't mind doping about 10 - 20 more maybe if i keep going ... I even started to get my life back on track I had fines dating back 10 years now i have nothing outstanding and to top it of my back on track program starts July 6 ... BUT the good thing about that is i get my licence back once its done but on a different side note im starting a blog to remind me why i quit drinking that blog will be on my charity fx network free blogs and charity donations in one :)

Hello fellow bloggers today i had a great adventure i decided since Give Something For Nothing is going to be a very big thing i needed a land line for long distance. So a 8km hike to and from my local computer shop (about 4 k each way) not easy for someone who has smoked 1-2 packs a day for so long.since i split up i haven't officially stayed quit i took myself back to the beginning of my "therapy" I'm trying to use suckers to supplement that "urge" to smoke the oral fixation as some people put it. So on my walk i only had 2 smokes not as good as i like but not bad considering I'm not on the patch and it was a loooong walk. i will keep trying to fill the fixation with suckers until Monday. Then its QUIT date, again lol.

As for this invention that seams to have so much hype, I did a little research and found surprisingly allot of people complain about it. However that post i read threw were older post hope things have changed. So I was excited but i had a problem. its been about 6 years since i had a home phone line and i don't own a phone.... so quick trip to Canadian tire and a $15 phone later I'm home. Keep in mind as i write this my blackberry is with Bell Canada on a student plan. installing it was easy although if i installed it according to the directions i would still be here waiting. like a dynex box the directions are for someone who has used a computer once or twice. The directions "witch are on page to of the only documentation it came with" say

  1. 1 Plug any phone into magic jack.

  2. 2 plug magic jack into computer

  3. 3 pick up any phone and dial

well you have to register a number. and my auto run didn't seem to work so i had to do a clicky. Once my Magic Jack was registered it took about 10 minutes to work and my first call ... me lol
it seemed to work very well with my cell so i made a phone call. it was to a non bell non-rogers digital VoIP over cable phone the person i was talking to said i sounded "electric" i assume she was talking about my electric personality but hey :) after about 14 minutes my call was placed on hold? i thought it might have been my cheap phone but non of the buttons seem to work on it after i was off of hold she had hung up so i left it at that.

My second call was to a bell land line. I thought the quality was fine but i was told i was cutting in and out slightly. Keep in mind i get no reception on my cell unless I'm standing on my head with one foot in the air, holding an egg on a spoon. although she felt i sounded a little choppy she felt it was still better then my cell with blue tooth.
But that's not the best part. Because i have my 10 anywhere in Canada i called up bell and asked to pay the $3 call forwarding charge that no one ever uses (the operator even said she didnt know the still had it) and had it added to my bundle. then i change my my 10 number to be my jack. Now not only can i forward my blackberry to my jack and not have to worry about reception when I'm at home, but i can do this ANYWHERE i have a computer with internet And i can reverse it if I'm on the road. The best part is my cell number uses no daytime minutes when I'm using my jack. I'm considering getting another on to keep with my net-book. that alone makes it worth the cost

anyway only time will tell if this truly is the future of a second phone line. but for now i would at the very least get one if you have bad cell reception at home.

One more thing When registering for a number at the same cost as a Canadian one you can search there database for one that's customized. mine ends with 7-BILL cause i wanted a number somewhat close to back home

a new day

So i have good news bad news and great news. the good news is i finally heard from the lawyer (i love pre-paid legal) and she confirmed that that landlord cannot charge me anything without taking me to the board and that would take 12 after the decision before they could raise my rent :)

The bad news is that all this landlord stuff caused me to break my quit :( tomorrow is another day so ill give it another shot. Truthful though that is what this blog is about informing people about quiting smoking and the triggers that can cause you to relapse. in this case undue stress. I knew that all of this would work out. I have reviewed my provincial landlord tenant act many times and been taken advantage of by many landlords, Yet still that little bit of stress caused me to light up. I didn't even relies it until I did.I just graped a smoke and boom.
now to try and over come it, People have suggested that taking a walk is a good way to get over the urge, there is a problem with this in my opinion. Many smokers walk well they smoke. myself a trip to the local timmies usually involves 2 smokes there and back. So this is not a viable option in my case at least.

Another method to pass the urge is candy, as this blog implies I am partial to this, But it didn't work this time.

A third method that has been suggested to me in the past is simply slowly taking 10 deep breaths and repeating until it passes, I find on a conscious level this works very well but on a subconscious level you really need to be aware of your stress level.

dose anyone have any other ideas on how to deal with stress feel free to post them.

And now for the great news Give Something for Nothing is starting to gain support we are contacting charities regularly and may have a lead on some website designers and database admins that could help on an internship program this would really go along way towards getting the site up and running and creating a steady fellowship we are looking for people to help contact local charities or drive traffic to our site feel free to let me know its a great cause

one last thing before I end this post. As I was writing this i had to look up conscious on Merriam-Webster i found some words listed in there dictionary people might find "interesting" or at least something to scratch your head about

concertiquette (noun) : behavior or etiquette at a concert
Those children have such nice concertiquette at all the concerts.

Confuzzuled (adjective) : to be confused in an astounding way. I'm confuzzuled , can you help me?

coolioso (adjective) : when something is so amazing that no words can express how cool something is so you say coolioso

Granted these are user submission that i would expect from Urban Dictionary but Webster???? at the very least someone might get a chuckle
